The
Longere (5 en-suite bedrooms, sleeps 10)
A large comfortable and spacious converted barn, is on
2 floors and comes very well equipped. On the ground floor there
are spacious living areas (open plan but separated) of kitchen;
dining room with table and chairs for 10 and the lounge with its
wood burning fireplace. The floors are tiled throughout. The kitchen
is fully equipped with modern units, dishwasher, washing machine,
microwave and conventional ovens, fridge, toaster etc. With plenty
of space for a kitchen table and chairs it is perfect for the
informal breakfast and for use by the younger members. We also
make sure that you have those little extras like a mixer/blender,
garlic press, whisk and Tupperware containers. Also on the ground
floor is a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom. These have no
steps which, with that little extra space, make this room ideal
for the less agile. On the first floor are the other 4 bedrooms,
all en-suite and this area also incorporates a tower with panoramic
views. 2 of the bedrooms have twin beds and the other 2 have doubles.
There are two cots availabile. All have comfortable English divans
and quality bedding.
The
Barn (3 en-suite bedrooms, sleeps 6)
The
second of the newly converted barns faces south-east with patio
doors opening onto a terrace with a wooden picnic table and bench
seats, next to the barbecue – perfect for meals in the sun.
Fields all around the property ensure privacy and seclusion. Downstairs,
the kitchen is well-appointed, open-plan and modern, cool tiles
lead you through to the dining area and further onto the lounge.
This gite also has an easily accessible downstairs double bedroom
with en-suite bathroom for any guest finding it more practical
to sleep on the ground floor. The first floor has a further two
bright, comfortable provencal-style bedrooms – a double
and a twin, overlooking the pool and surrounding countryside.
There is a cot in the gite as well.
On hot summer days this pretty spacious house is filled with sunshine.
The
Grounds
There is plenty of space to play or just
relax and enjoy the peace and tranquillity. Stroll up to our top
field and make friends with Poppy and Fleur, our donkeys ( a carrot
is always welcome) or help yourselves to fresh eggs from our chicken
and duck house. Our 12m x 6m solar-heated swimming pool overlooks
the countryside and is in full sunshine for the whole day, and
with sun loungers for all, the perfect spot for soaking up the
rays. The pool water is kept sparkling clean using modern chlorine-free
methods that not only ensures that micro-organisms are destroyed
effectively but that the water is gentle on the skin and eyes
and feels fresh and clean every time you use it. The shallow end
is flat and ideal for the children with the deep end sloping to
2m. For
safety, the pool area is enclosed and children are not allowed
to use the pool area unaccompanied. At the end of our private
lane is a safe traffic free walkway, stretching for miles through
forests and fields between west and east. You can walk, jog or
cycle to our two nearest villages. Bike hire can be arranged locally.
